Coach Messaging

As Director of Design and Research, I built and led a multi-disciplinary team of over 20 designers, UX researchers, and data scientists. I defined the product platform strategy and vision for health and wellness products.

Virgin Pulse offers coaching to its members. But there were two problems: 1) members were frustrated by the limitations of half hour phone coaching sessions and, 2) coaches found that it took at least 10 minutes of the coaching sessions to get members talking about the important topics. We interviewed members and coaches to better understand their needs and introduced asynchronous messaging so that members and their coaches could share information outside of sessions.
